γ0.27 is out! (Major Gameplay Update)


Gameplay

- Redesigned the Gameplay GUI!

- Beats are now drawn as outlines to allow beats beneath them on the same tile to be more easily read

- Holds no longer show their held length in the center of a hold, instead filling their border to keep the center clear for reading beats beneath them

-- Holds will also now fill up grey until their hit to assist in showing the correct time they must be released

- The gameplay header is now smaller and only displays your accuracy

-- The background of the header is also now used to show your current progress in the level

- The new UR bar and hit values names are shown below the gameplay header

- Sections are now visible in the top-left corner of the screen during gameplay

- Replay information is now displayed on the bottom of the screen

- Version information will no longer display in the bottom-left corner of the screen during gameplay when Debug Overlay is enabled

- Adjustments to Hit Values!

- Added the Marvelous hit value, awarding more score than Greats while still awarding 100% accuracy

- Adjusted the timing windows for Goods, Oks, and Misses

-- (Numbers below will use HW 1 as an example, formatted as [Hit Value]: [Old Max Error] --> [New Max Error])

-- Marvelous: (N/A) --> (25ms)

-- Great: (50ms) --> (50ms)

-- Good: (125ms) --> (100ms)

-- Ok: (250ms) --> (150ms)

-- Miss: (500ms) --> (250ms)

- Beats will now automatically miss when they can no longer be hit for score (250ms after their perfect hit time on HW 1)

- Redesigned the Results Screen!

- Added a Performance chart to the results screen to show your average error in hitting beats

- Accuracy per section is now displayed on the results screen

- Your profile picture will now be displayed next to your user information on the results screen

- The star rating of the level will be included with other level information on the results screen

- Added the Π rank after SS!

- The graphics for SS and Π ranks will now shine

- Updated the Pause Screen!

- Buttons are now displayed in the center of the screen

- Added a Continue button to resume gameplay to go along with hitting Esc

- Other Gameplay Changes

-- Having Auto mod enabled will no longer set your score to 0

-- Having Auto enabled will treat it as if the game is playing the level, instead of displaying your user information on the results screen

-- The No Effects mod now has a 1x Score Multiplier (Previously x0.75)

Settings

- Added the Beat Thickness setting!

-- Allows you to change how thick the outline of beats are, with max Beat Thickness causing them to be entirely filled in

- Added the Gameplay Header Width setting!

-- Allows you to change the width of the gameplay header

- Added the Additional Gameplay GUI setting!

-- When enabled, score, combo, and sections will display during gameplay

- Added the Disable Marvelouses setting!

-- Works similarly to the Disable Greats settings, making Marvelous hit particles not appear during gameplay

Bug Fixes, Optimizations, & Other Changes

- The game has been ported from Processing.js to p5.js! This should improve performance for most users and allow for even more cool features to be added soon

- Level uploading has been reworked and should no longer cause data loss in some cases during poor server performance

- Levels must now be downloaded on the level select screen before being played

- Updated database layout and server code to improve the performance of searching for levels online, now allowing for showing all levels on the level select screen without the need for separate pages and decreasing load times

- Images will no longer be sourced from links from now on, instead you can now upload files directly from your computer!

- Combined the fonts for all of the languages to have consistency when displaying text

- Fixed some visual glitches with the screen loading transition

- Fixed a bug where clipping was appearing in Vignette graphics at certain sizes
